[Today, just outside of Camp's barrier there is a kid with a backpack on his shoulder. He looks pretty confused, like he doesn't know how he got there.]

I can't go anywhere yet.

[pacing alongside the barrier, as if looking for a flaw or loophole]

...maybe Brianna's coming too she's just. Uh, late.

Okay...okay, shit. Uh, well, you guys are going to the same place so it's not so bad, right?

Yeah. But won't they think it's weird if I stay there by myself?

Nnnnot really? The neighbors are used to weird stuff happening around my house, it's part of the mysterious allure.

...and it shouldn't be for too long. I mean, time is weird here, right? So a longer time for Brianna might just be one day for you.

But then Brianna's gonna be waiting for a long time.

Maybe not too long. But...the main point is you guys are going to stick together, right? So think of it as a breather. She'll be pissed, probably go on another batting spree, calm the fuck down and by the time you see her again she'll have the good parts about missing you and gotten all the separation rage out of her system.

She's not going to hold it against you, this isn't like you deciding to up and ditch her. And, c'mon dude, Toronto is way cooler than this dump. When we all get back, remind me to show you the old time arcade...

Yeah, you like that stuff right? I'll show you the sights, whatever you and Brianna missed the first time. Short cuts, hole in the wall eating spots, the stuff you can't find on Google Maps. Whatever you're interested in...

I know most of the reasons you want to go to Toronto are pig-tailed and bossy, but I'll try not to suck as a guide. I mean, you're an okay dude and I'm sorry I didn't spend more time with you so it would be less weird if this happened...

Huh? --No, it's fine. I don't talk to a lot of people anyways. You're pretty cool, and it's not like Brianna and I need you to babysit us or fuss over us or anything.

What I meant was more, like, have you be excited about living there for more reasons of your own. I don't want you to think you're out of place for...however long it is until someone else shows up. And I realize I really don't have any friends that I'd say were "reassuring" as a contact...maybe Wallace. If he can remember to put pants on...

I'm not worried about that. We checked it out, and it was a cool place. I just don't want to leave without Brianna.
