[Today, just outside of Camp's barrier there is a kid with a backpack on his shoulder. He looks pretty confused, like he doesn't know how he got there.]

Yeah, but--not yet. We didn't pack up or anything.

[ So his problem with this is that he knows exactly what will happen if Jack goes home, so . . . ]

Do you know where you'll go, if not Canada?

Captain America said I could go to his world. But Brianna and I are gonna stick together.

You can stay in mine until she's ready.

Mm. My brother would take care of you. Or, well, I say "take care", but he's your age. He would help.

...I can't leave Brianna.

I wouldn't say you're leaving her. You're just . . . going away for a while. I'll make sure she doesn't get into too much trouble.

She's not really good at listening to people.

She's not, not really. But back then I promised you both I'd help you out in any way I could.

Ramona said I could stay at her place until they get there. It might only be a day for me, you know? But for Brianna it might be longer.

Mm. I'll see what I can do, Jack. Please take care of yourself and try not to worry too much.

[ raising an arm and flexing, then smacking his bicep with his free hand ]

Despite appearances, I'm pretty tough. Be safe, little brother.

I promise. And sometime, I'll try to visit, too, if only for a little while.

You can visit on vacations. If you want.

I'd really like that. I'll brush up on my English for you.

Oh, right, the translator wouldn't work in Toronto. I can learn some languages too.

I speak English well enough, you'd only have to forgive somewhat wonky grammar and overly formal speech.
